Our work for mental health policy.
Our Partner: Steinberg Institute
The Goal: Inspire leadership in California to enact mental health legislation to benefit citizens.
The Strategy: Since 2021 we told in-depth stories about four Champions doing work to improve mental health conditions in this state. Our package includes film and photography.
The Wins: We humanized the issue of mental health by connecting our lawmakers to personal stories of those on the front lines of the battle. The work has earned media coverage for the Steinberg Institute and assisted them in promoting legislation on a variety of topics including the workforce shortage, mental health for unhoused individuals, the 988 Crisis line and more.

“The Ethical Narrative team created powerful and impactful stories that highlighted the heroic work of our Mental Health Champions. They also brought a level of care and professionalism to the project that reflects their core ethical storytelling values. Those values align with our organization, so it was a truly rewarding partnership. ”
